IBM introduced the “first” personal computer on August 12, 1981. It had 16 KB of RAM (random access memory) and weighed 21 pounds. Add to that the 17-pound monitor (that supported both upper- and lowercase characters) and a keyboard that weighed six pounds. If you wanted to be in the in, you probably shelled out $1,600.00 for your PC back then.
What do we have now? Where would we be, or not be, without the PC today?
Happy 25th Birthday to the PC.
